Daniel Carpi: that’s all I can do. Video camera here and record if you want. in this case, yo creo que de el qué es más importante que el cóo y y es parte del camino también, el qué es más importante que el cómo.

Tobias Fechner: Okay.

00:02:20 {#00:02:20}

Yo no sé,

Entonces no queda claro.

No sé.

Tobias Fechner: I just I think it would be more generative if try to integrate into the flow that you would like to

Daniel Carpi: Yeah.

Tobias Fechner: create and you would like to bring.

00:06:28 {#00:06:28}

Tobias Fechner: So I’m ready to meet you where you’re at is what I was trying to say.

Daniel Carpi: We I I personally don’t understand where we are. So, I’m just trying to put us somewhere because I don’t understand any where we are

Tobias Fechner: I can share my from my

Daniel Carpi: and and

Tobias Fechner: perspective at least. Maybe it

Daniel Carpi: but but um what I’m trying to say if we can do it from

Tobias Fechner: helps.

Daniel Carpi: this place from the place of very concrete actionable things that we need to do like who is coming what are we doing what do we need to get that to to accomplish that like we need food who’s opening the

Tobias Fechner: Yeah.

Daniel Carpi: door who’s coming in and who’s not coming in and uh who’s facilitating what are we going to facilitate and what do we need to do tomorrow. To me, we need to design the event of the 20th. If we don’t design the event of the 20th tomorrow, then we just call it

Tobias Fechner: Yeah.

Daniel Carpi: off.

Tobias Fechner: I’m in agreement. So what I’ve been preparing

Daniel Carpi: Mm.

Tobias Fechner: is to try to create a sense of a decentralized an emergent and action orioriented event.

00:08:12

Tobias Fechner: We can do that.

Daniel Carpi: Yeah.

Tobias Fechner: Well, what I can offer for us to have a sense for that is the core domains that we have used and validated to organize events in this way.

Daniel Carpi: Yeah.

Tobias Fechner: So what I’ve been preparing is to use multiple rooms, one for each domain to try to create common meaning

Daniel Carpi: Mhm.

Tobias Fechner: about that domain and to try to go deeper and deeper into designing the day of the 20th together by having that shared experience to draw from the colored rooms.

Daniel Carpi: that that you shared with me yesterday.

Tobias Fechner: Yeah.

Daniel Carpi: Yes. Ok. So, how long do you think that experience will

Tobias Fechner: Yeah.

Daniel Carpi: take?

Tobias Fechner: All day.

Daniel Carpi: All day.

Tobias Fechner: Yeah.

Daniel Carpi: Wow. And how many people do you think we need to be?

Tobias Fechner: As many as possible.

Daniel Carpi: But we are designing the event of the 20th.

Tobias Fechner: So what I

Daniel Carpi: We are not just experiencing something.

Tobias Fechner: think

Daniel Carpi: We are doing a workshop of design.

Tobias Fechner: there. Yeah, I agree. So maybe a an important question I need to ask is there any time in between Monday and Saturday where we would be able to work um from different roles to clarify further the design because what tomorrow can serve is clarification of roles clarification of intention and purpose.

00:10:02 {#00:10:02}

Tobias Fechner: And if we have time in between Monday and Saturday, people can then um kind of finalize the design after Monday. But Monday tomorrow is would be important to set some first principles. Otherwise, the event is I think it’s likely that we would just design a general event which um yeah would be different. So for example, maybe one person really relates with the domain of enrollment and they see yeah I could see how from these activities that we did different people were able to take different roles and I could see how naming those roles and clarifying those roles enabled us as a whole group to be more effective. If someone sees that and they want to bring that into the day of the 20th, they can then design that between Monday and Saturday. Another example would be for different domains cuz what I’m trying to do with the day tomorrow is create enabling conditions and alignment. If we want to design the content of the day itself, then we can maybe try to do a very quick exercise in the morning. I’m happy to shrink it and constrain it and then do content in the afternoon. But I think to jump straight to content is going to leave out a lot of um the potential.

Daniel Carpi: Well, it has to be a short experience in order to bring in the content.

00:11:58

Daniel Carpi: That’s the idea.

Tobias Fechner: So, you want to try and do content as well?

Daniel Carpi: I’m I’m lost.

Tobias Fechner: Ok.

Daniel Carpi: So, I can surrender and just let myself experienced but uh but I’m not understanding. So, you know what I mean? We we need to lead a workshop on the 20th which is less than a week from now,

Tobias Fechner: Yeah.

Daniel Carpi: six days from now. We need in order to do that we need to finish enrolling people and the first problem is enrollment like really people coming to the event otherwise we’re doing this for ourselves. We kind of enroll people into an event that we don’t have clarity on what is it. We this is this is a long process that we try to shrink in a very short period of

Tobias Fechner: Yeah.

Daniel Carpi: time. So we need to be realistic and and we cannot do anything if we don’t enroll people. In order to enroll people, we need to have a bit more clarity and then design the event. Those are the three steps that I see. I again um I think we’re still working on what is this about. I talk I talk to at least three communities, three like leads of communities.

00:13:37

Daniel Carpi: who says, “Wow, this looks interesting, but I have no clarity what you’re talking about. Um, can you send me more information? Can we have a conversation?” And um so that shows that we are

Tobias Fechner: Yeah.

Daniel Carpi: not that we don’t have a clear message and that we should have called in I view we should have called to an experience and that is the step number one is to call people to an experience an debate a discussion and you you don’t call it a design of tools on blockchain you put the the down the the purpose the vision and and you call people to an experience then whoever you know you let it percate and whoever stays you you continue and you design the the tools with the people that said oh this is interesting you know I imagine that that’s the way it worked in the other uh workshops that you did in in Africa and elsewhere

Tobias Fechner: Did you want to your hand

Verónica del Carril: No,

Tobias Fechner: raised?

Verónica del Carril: I’m just I’m trying to think in terms of like

Daniel Carpi: um

Verónica del Carril: management and what’s realistic. Uh my concern with dates and time and luma was because honestly I didn’t understand that tomorrow was all day. That’s why I set the event at 5 pm.

00:15:30 {#00:15:30}

Verónica del Carril: Um I did understand that it was an important kickof. Uh, I think Danny thought it was more private. I already thought it was big enough. It had to have a number, a quadum. Uh, I’ve been tracking Luma and I don’t think you have the quotum you want and expect for a whole day of work. You should also think that uh tomorrow is a national holiday in here. Um, so I’m trying to be as positive and realistic as I can. I think 20th still stands as long as we can meet tomorrow for not the whole day, but to plan and to say what we got and what we’re going to do on the 20th and adjust the vision to reality. Um I think if we come out tomorrow from who whomever comes which should be like our deepest closest friends and activists we can come

Tobias Fechner: Yeah.

Verónica del Carril: up with like a clearer message of why the 20th is worth it and why is it different and why they should be coming. I honestly I wouldn’t like to be working tomorrow. I clearly have to uh but I think it shouldn’t be for the whole day and it shouldn’t be about tech.

00:16:49 {#00:16:49}

Verónica del Carril: It should be about simplifying as much as possible the message so that we can convey at least a nice number for the 20th. I think it’s about production tomorrow. No, about tech. You see what I mean? I think as long as we want to keep the 20th valid and

Tobias Fechner: Yeah.

Verónica del Carril: happening tomorrow we might have do we will we who is

Daniel Carpi: Who’s coming tomorrow that you know? Who’s coming tomorrow that that you know?

Tobias Fechner: me I think I only know mostly

Daniel Carpi: Yeah.

Tobias Fechner: of online participants so Seba and then three people from Africa Tak.

Daniel Carpi: But why do what is that the people from Africa are going to be um doing giving

Verónica del Carril: doing H

Daniel Carpi: us? us meaning the the team here in Argentina.

Tobias Fechner: Um well it mostly came in response to a time when we were talking about worries of if this is feasible to convert or to work in this space of trying to create ecosystem health indicators using blockchain.

Verónica del Carril: M.

Daniel Carpi: Mhm.

Tobias Fechner: And so I wanted to bring invite real world examples and also examples of projects that had gone through this kind of program for us.

00:18:34 {#00:18:34}

Tobias Fechner: So I’ve been meeting with them,

Daniel Carpi: Mhm.

Tobias Fechner: calling them, preparing them to share their stories to try to

Daniel Carpi: Mhm.

Tobias Fechner: ease those worries and also make it a bit relatable. So also not talk about the tech but just talk about their journey and their story and it can apply for us internally as

Daniel Carpi: Hm.

Tobias Fechner: a group because I think it still has something to add for these internal organizers and if there was external groups to I think it would just make for even more questions which was serve all of us

Daniel Carpi: Mhm.

Tobias Fechner: the groups from Africa they want to practice presenting their work. And um we want to well you guys want to me to I want to

Daniel Carpi: Sí.

Tobias Fechner: get curious to learn more about real world examples.

Verónica del Carril: A ver, concretely I’m looking at Luma right now and the one that says coming doc a guy called Fede. again like because this was set for tomorrow and then mov to to the 20th. Some people show as developers and I don’t know if they’re really uh bots really like Fede. I’ve been checking him and he appears online. The other people that show Mary Poppins or Sylvia or I don’t even know if they were real people.

00:20:13

Verónica del Carril: And then there’s a J Müer that showed up but I think she comes from the art scene. So there’s something going on with the link and where the the Luma link is going and

Daniel Carpi: Yeah, I imagine has to do with um with developers.

Verónica del Carril: flowing.

Daniel Carpi: It went into some it in some developers groups and probably it’s posted somewhere and people are just clicking and signing

Verónica del Carril: Um I’m I’m just saying what I see. Delie could be connecting from the states. I don’t know about Felipe. I think he could come Juan that’s J la Impact. Quinta esencia is basically dona Seba J is the same as Juan. This is you. I’m just saying the and and for example if we talk about we talk about the your uh African fellows and and folks

Daniel Carpi: Yeah.

Verónica del Carril: that tried what time is uh like if we were to do like a call in which they start the morning they tell us their experience what time do they will they Connect.

Tobias Fechner: Um, so far one person has scheduled for 10 a.m. our time. Um,

00:21:50 {#00:21:50}

Verónica del Carril: Mhm.

Tobias Fechner: I think a second person has scheduled after that. So, 11. Let me just check. I’ll try to refresh.

Verónica del Carril: Ok.

Tobias Fechner: Um, and then well in theory I’ve been telling them to schedule whenever it works for them just making sure that they’re not creating overlaps on the agenda.

Verónica del Carril: So what if I’m trying to be realistic if

Daniel Carpi: Mhm.

Verónica del Carril: we do not the whole day because I don’t see it happening people what do one como bloque de la mañana we start us 9 am coffee we try to Go go go through details. Um we host the call at 10 from 10 to 11 if we can with the African team and and fellows. And we continue working so that we can leave that day at least midday with some reasonable picture of whatever we can. And we align I know you’ve been designing a lot but I think you need to align with whatever is design um SA was designing. I think you both had like facilitating uh designs happening. You for tomorrow, him for the 20th. And I think it’s worth shrinking and focusing on align aligning uh more than the tech aligning expectations on on events and reach out sorry does

00:24:00 {#00:24:00}

Daniel Carpi: Maybe maybe a subgroup can stay the whole day,

Verónica del Carril: it.

Daniel Carpi: but it’s not realistic that that uh whoever goes tomorrow will stay the whole day being a

Verónica del Carril: Claro, por eso if we want and if we want do I think we have to

Daniel Carpi: holiday

Verónica del Carril: shrink the the window that we ask them to be there present. You see what I mean? So if we host like if we invite them for three f hours with coffee and some snacks, they will come. I don’t think they will come for the whole day.

Daniel Carpi: and also because there was no clarity to knows where we communicated

Verónica del Carril: Exacto.

Tobias Fechner: And I think I did post it in the group since 10 days ago, but it’s okay. I think it really is like the pattern I’m hearing is that it’s really tight on time. Everything that we’re trying to fit in is a real challenge just because of how little time

Verónica del Carril: Mhm.

Tobias Fechner: there is. And I think we need to be easy on ourselves because of

Daniel Carpi: Ya, ya, ya, ya.

Tobias Fechner: that.

Daniel Carpi: Whatever it is, it is. Let’s do a process that makes sense for us.

00:25:10

Verónica del Carril: Yeah.

Daniel Carpi: You know,

Tobias Fechner: Yeah. Yeah, I agree. also

Daniel Carpi: I I can I can be there most of the day. Maybe somebody else wants to is coming in the morning. Um, Antonio is super busy. He said if we if we everybody thinks that he should come for a slot of time or whatever, you know, he will come.

Verónica del Carril: I think we have to converge and he’s a like he likes to divert. No, I’m sorry. I think we need to meet those who are more into process process and order we need to meet in the morning.

Daniel Carpi: doesn’t

Verónica del Carril: Lo que pasa que

Tobias Fechner: Yeah.

Verónica del Carril: isaro Dani, vos estás en contacto con Doco y con y con make 10:30 if I would say out of respect for these

Tobias Fechner: Yes.

Verónica del Carril: team let’s skip to like stick to that we we’re having the call with these guys and let’s make sure that we all understand which zoom we’re in and at what time we show up and let That’s a line

Daniel Carpi: Right.

Verónica del Carril: with

Daniel Carpi: If somebody participates somebody participates via Zoom, where do they join?

00:27:07 {#00:27:07}

Verónica del Carril: 945 945

Daniel Carpi: Where? Where? where? Where?

Verónica del Carril: that could be a zoom could be a meet on that matter and

Tobias Fechner: It should be a zoom.

Daniel Carpi: You go go to the theater and I organiz this with tabs now.

Tobias Fechner: Ok,

Verónica del Carril: tipo zoom at that’s

Daniel Carpi: Okay.

Tobias Fechner: thanks also if you want to start scheduling

Daniel Carpi: Bueno,

Verónica del Carril: my

Tobias Fechner: things so that we can just say to people this is what’s going to

Daniel Carpi: deal.

Tobias Fechner: happen. Send the message in theendar channel. I know I saw Danny you tried.

Daniel Carpi: I tried and nothing happened.

Tobias Fechner: I think I think you almost got it.

Daniel Carpi: I don’t know what I did wrong.

Tobias Fechner: It might have just missed one field and if it didn’t have the field um it can’t create the event.

Daniel Carpi: the missing

Tobias Fechner: So I’ll confirm I’ll confirm the info that you have to

Daniel Carpi: Ok.

Tobias Fechner: send and you can do it by text.

Verónica del Carril: Let me just say one thing. You both decide when we start, when we finish, and whom who starts at what time, and I’ll schedule with like I’ll make sure that it shows up on Google calendar.

00:28:22 {#00:28:22}

Verónica del Carril: Is that ok?

Tobias Fechner: Yeah, we let’s say 10 to1 then.

Verónica del Carril: 10 to

Tobias Fechner: It sounds like that’s what we’re going for.

Verónica del Carril: one.

Tobias Fechner: 10 to1 first call at 10 with the Africa peeps. I’ll try and get as many of them into that first call as possible. We just do it all in the same,

Verónica del Carril: Listo.

Tobias Fechner: wrap up within 45 minutes, 60 minutes, and then have a couple of hours for content for the 20th.

Verónica del Carril: Okay. Y listo. Ok, I’ll I’ll schedule it on the on my

Tobias Fechner: All right.

Verónica del Carril: phone.

Tobias Fechner: All right.

Daniel Carpi: Dale. Ok.

Verónica del Carril: Bye bye.

Daniel Carpi: Oh. Hey! You you just hang up there. Sí. Hola, ¿estás? No sé. Where? Where are you? Where are you? Ayudé Alo. Are you can you hear me now? Can you hear me now?
